Sunday, 30 September: Tas ends month with negative price of minus $154.69/MWh in early morning trading interval

Tasmania recorded a negative price of minus $154.69/MWh in the 30-minute trading interval ended 0500EST on Sunday, 30 September.

Average down 57 per cent: The negative price, plus nine trading intervals with average prices under $10.00/MWh, pushed Tasmania’s average price down 57 per cent to $19.24/MWh.

Top price highest in NEM: Prices recovered in the early evening when Tasmania’s top price of $59.55/MWh in the 1900EST interval was the highest of the day in the NEM regions.

Demand up: Maximum demand of 1371MW in the 1900EST interval was up 59MW (4.5 per cent) on Saturday’s 1312MW.
